Why are you a volunteer?
I wanted to take a year out from university. I had volunteered before on a part-time basis so I knew I liked it. You get opportunities to do things as a volunteer that you wouldn’t normally get. And why not do something that you want to do and see what it’s like for free? You’re not losing anything.
Why did you choose Norway?
I didn't, Norway chose me
What do you do?
I volunteer at the Red Cross Nordic United World College as English language support staff. I tutor students in English and help them with their homework. I also help with Theatre Arts, learn Norwegian, chat with students. Run around. And have a laugh. That’s about it really. What is bad about being a volunteer?
Well, I could do with some more money, but I make do without. Annoying French volunteers.Three typical norwegian things?
