Hafs 199925 July, Sunday First day of excange activities
Lillingstonheimen is an old home developed and built by it's inhabitants during the 19th century. In the last years Fjaler community has been taking care of the place and opened it for tourists.
Lillingston bought the place in 1890, and rebuilt and renovated the house, making it into a typical English style. The Welsh recognised it immediately. Lillingston was a wealthy man and the contents in the house reflected that.
It was quite interesting to examine the artefacts and drink coffee and eat cookies in beautiful surroundings.
Some of us sailed out to Lillingston heimen, and took a motor boat back home. Others did it the other way around.
This was the first sailing experience for almost everyone. Even though the weather Gods weren't in our favour, we had a great time. Some of us were afraid the boats would capsize, especially the Welsh girls. They cried and screamed during the voyage.
We came back wet and tired, but Eivind present there was no chance of having a shower, he obviously wanted us to drown in out kayaks, but luckily it did not become anyone's destiny. We played games witch included walking on the kayaks and putting the kayaks on top of each other in a pyramid. Then you had to try to brake free from the pyramid with out using your ores. After we had broken free we tried to make a desperate paddle for shore only to find ourselves being chased by the group leaders. |
