About "The Value of Exchanges"
Tina Simmons and Roger Kløvtveit are now in the process of evaluating / researching 7 years worth of exchanges. Also involved in the project is Heli Tuisk in Estonia, Daniel Grange & Francis Menanger in France and Lise Alsted Henrichsen from Denmark.
Together with partner organisations from Estonia, England, France, Italy, Romania, Spain, Wales and Norway we have been partners in exchanges since 1999. Together we have arranged group exchanges, EVS exchanges and training courses involving over 600 young people and leaders.
We wish to research how the young people taking part in group exchanges were affected by taking part in an international exchange and what influence this experience has had on their lives. The research will culminate in information material directed towards young people and youth leaders (booklet, DVD and website).
In order to achieve the above we need as many of the the young people, volunteers and leaders involved to answer and return a questionaire within the 1st May 2006. (click on this link to download the questionaire).
From amongst those that answer this questionaire we would like to invite 30 young people and leaders representing all countries that have been involved to come to Norway and participate in a Seminar where we will further explore the issue of "The Value of Exchanges".
The seminar will be arranged between the 7th and 15th August 2006. We will cover all your costs of attending this includes travel, activities, room and board. If the dates are difficult for you I will be obliged to write an attestation that clarifies what we will be doing and the value of this. This may be presented to your school / university / employer and hopefully you will be given time off.
We would like the young people attending the seminar to be active participants in forming the information material that we aim to publish.
Even if you are unable to attend the seminar your answers will be valued, so please complete the questiionaire and send it to me.
In addition, as I only have the old adresses of all the former participants and leaders, please inform those of your friends that took part in exchanges here about this and ask them to reply. We need all of you!!!!
